With so many different opinions about the journey to use less paper, many are wondering, “What’s the point?” Well, the point is to get rid of all of that paper clutter that claims your desk, your office, and your entire life. The point is to save space, time, and money. There are so many ways to go paperless that it’s easy to make the change, sometimes without even noticing.  Paper is slowly disappearing, but making the conversion can be easy. Save more by using paper (less)™.

As the print journalism industry seems to be weakening, there are still many people who are holding on tight to their newspapers and magazines. We have all witnessed the decline of newspapers, especially since radio, TV, and internet became more easily accessible forms of news. Newspapers are no longer the main source of news because it has become easier to watch or listen to it while carrying on with our lives. While the sales of print journalism has declined, journalism itself will always be alive and adapting to today’s society.

Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and many others have all made the change to digital eReaders. The huge debate over real, paper books and digital eBooks is becoming more common among avid readers. Cost, weight, and portability are among the biggest factors when deciding whether or not to get an eReader or tablet. Many have made the paperless switch and enjoy all the storage space and entertainment that comes along with them, yet others still are hooked on the look and feel of a real paper book. But getting rid of that huge bookshelf will earn you extra space in your life as well as your home.

Piles of paper everywhere can put a serious dent in your workday. Having a place to store all your documents without a chance of losing them will make your office more efficient and save money. Storing paper is expensive, and a document management system can save you all that money in the long run. With a document management system, expansion is easy. When it comes to storing paper, physical space is limited no matter where you are, but virtual space can always be added to your computer for electronic file storage.

The days of a world without paper are approaching fast whether we like it or not. With so many ways to get rid of paper and all the clutter it brings, why not try it out? Read a newspaper online, buy a tablet, and get a document management system. Toss out all that paper clutter and find a way to use paper (less)™.

In today’s busy world, there is never enough time to finish what one plan’s to do in the day. There is always a call that was not made, a conversation that was not had, and an email or a text message that didn’t get sent. As technology has improved, people have started applying more and more a concept that was once uniquely related to computers to everyday life. It is the idea of “multitasking” and this idea has been made popular by advances in technology that we now seem to be unable to live without[1].

Face to Face Meeting

The value of meeting face to face with clients and partners is being questioned like never before. The popularity of technologies such as teleconferencing is soaring, with sales doubling to $1.6 billion in the last five years, reflecting an overall trend away from face to face meetings.[1] Texting, FaceTime, Skype and GoToMeetings are just a few of the many tools people can now use to avoid communicating in person, but at Office Gemini, we still value meeting face to face.

Price is no longer a valid excuse to not move into the cloud. Not only is it economically feasible for many now, but there is also incredible variety in the offerings for cloud solutions by companies in almost every market one can think of. Whether a company needs financial software, CRM software, document management software or a dedicated server, options are almost limitless when it comes to providers of cloud solutions. Every company that deals with a lot of paperwork and has had stacks of documents piling up eventually reaches the point where they begin having to get rid of documents. This purge can come as a result of sheer desperation from overwhelming amounts of paper or from a budgetary aversion to investing in more filing space. There are two solutions to this issue. The first is to develop a systematic process to get rid of old, unnecessary documents. And the second, to organize files better in order to be able to quickly identify what is still needed and what is not. Fortunately for everyone, Dokmee combines both solutions beautifully.

Many of us look forward to this time of the year to spend time with our friends, family and loved ones.  But whether we are on vacation, or in transits, we still need access to our files.  Situations always come up while you are trying to enjoy your vacation like when someone from the office cannot find the files or documents that are needed to close that big opportunity that one has been working on all year.  You have to take time to guide that person to where on your desk the files are at, or you need look through the different external drives where you may have saved the files.

The ability to move files around in a document management software is easily underestimated. Manufacturers many times assume there is no need to give users the ability to select a file and move it wherever you want as long as you can copy and paste and import and export documents out of the software. The issue of course, is practicality and ease of use. When users have large databases with hundreds of thousands of documents and when time is of essence, every feature that makes tasks easier and faster matters. That is the reason why drag and drop features were developed.
